My Mind is NOT Your Playground
Renew Your Mind.
We are all familiar with the phrase “My mind is playing tricks on me”. We say it when we feel we’ve forgotten something, things don’t seem to be as they seem, and we are left confused. The mind is a powerful place. It’s the place where dreams are born and where they die. The mind is the place where confidence grows, and doubt takes over. Your mind can make or break you. Your mind can suppress trauma in efforts to protect you but leaves triggers to remind you in the most inopportune times. Your mind has the power to turn doom to gloom. Your mind has the power to propel you into imaginary lands that inhabit your reality. Your mind is a powerful place and thing.
When we aren’t careful, our minds will cause us to make decisions based on things that aren’t true and circumstances that don’t exist. We must be intentional in the renewing of our mind and living in God’s word. God’s word renews our mind. God’s word sets the standard. God’s word is what we live by. When we fill our minds with affirmations found in the Bible, it’s easier to control your mind and therefore your actions.
Why am I saying all of this? Well, the time has come for purpose to manifest in my life. What does that mean? It means my mind is playing tricks on me. The fears in my heart are trying to take root in my mind. Doubt wants to creep in. Tricks are the ways of the enemy. Satan is the ultimate manipulator who uses your mind as his playground. It always seems to happen when God is moving me forward.
The same can hold true for you. Right when you are on the brink of something great, you are tested by false truths and lies. Your self-confidence will try to decrease. You will question whether you are the person for the job. You will question everything you’re getting ready to do. The devil doesn’t want us to believe in who God says we are. He wants to place seeds of doubt to deter you from your destiny. He will use people and things to play with your mind. Don’t let it happen. Don’t fall to the manipulation.
You are the head and not the tail. You are above and not beneath. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. God designed you for this very thing. Don’t doubt who you are, what you’ve been through, and who God has created you to be. He has designed you for the promise. He has specifically called you to the purpose. God CANNOT fail. What He has purposed for you will come to past, it will perform in the earth, and it WILL BRING HIM GLORY. God has called you to bring glory to His name. What an honor! What a privilege! God CHOSE you. Rest in His word. Rest in His promise to never leave you nor forsake you. Believe in who you are because God has approved you.
I have to remind myself of this every single day. Renew my mind every single day. We are God’s creation. He made our minds and although the devil wants to use it as a playground, we have the power to dismiss every thought that comes from the enemy. While the mind can be deceptive, it can also be the most beautiful place. It can be the place of joy, happiness, and love. It can be the place where dreams soar and manifest. It is the place of victory and triumph. It’s all in your mindset.
Every game that the enemy tries to play, every trick that he tries to perform, REMEMBER WHAT GOD SAID. Remember who God called you to be. Affirm yourself in the Lord. You are not to be played with. Your mind is not a playground. You are Chosen. You are PROMISED. You are PURPOSED!
